Special Olympics
Special Olympics is the world's largest program of sports training and competition for children and adults with mental disabilities. Participation is open to all individuals eight years of age or older. Training and competition in local, area, state, and national programs is offered year-round in Kentucky in 15 sports. Family Friends Program
The Council on Mental Retardation is seeking people 55 years and older to spend a couple of hours a week to volunteer as Family Friends. This is an intergenerational program that builds social networks through fostering friendly, mentoring relationships between three generations of community members. |

Alzheimer's Association
The Greater Kentucky/Southern Indiana Alzheimer's Association provides services to 125 counties across greater Kentucky and southern Indiana. Over 85,000 residents in our service area are affected by some form of dementia. Programs and Services provided to families and people with dementia include a 24 hour helpline; support groups; educational programs designed or caregivers, professionals and general education for the community; a speaker's bureau; a lending library with over 500 resources, including books, videos, DVDs and CDs; advocacy at all levels of government; and a newsletter. |
